NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 — Gap Analysis
Materials for Use in H2S-containing Environments in Oil & Gas ProductionAbout NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156
NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 specifies materials qualified for use in H2S-containing environments in upstream oil & gas production. It addresses Sulfide Stress Cracking (SSC), Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC), Hydrogen Induced Cracking (HIC) and Stepwise Cracking (SWC). The standard has three parts: Part 1 (general principles), Part 2 (carbon and low-alloy steels), and Part 3 (corrosion-resistant alloys, CRAs).
Issuing Body
AMPP (formerly NACE International) and ISO Technical Committee 67
Edition
2020
Coverage
Three parts: general principles for selection of cracking-resistant materials (Part 1); cracking-resistant carbon and low-alloy steels (Part 2); cracking-resistant CRAs and other alloys (Part 3).
Typical Users
Operators, EPCs, equipment manufacturers, fabricators in upstream oil & gas and related industries where H2S is present.
How to use this tool
1. Work through each clause. For each requirement, choose Compliant, Partial, Non-compliant, or leave as Not assessed.
2. Add notes against any requirement to record evidence, gaps, or corrective actions.
3. Click Save progress — data is stored locally in your browser, never uploaded.
